Prior Art world experience is preferred but not necessary. What is necessary is the ability to multi-task and handle a good deal of responsibility with a minimum amount of supervision, superior verbal and written skills. Must have STRONG Photoshop, scanning, digital camera and website maintenance. Recent QuickBooks experience is vital - as is the interest in working in a small company. A background as a registrar, office manager or project manager will definitely be an advantage. A minimum of 4 years experience after college graduation is required. Must be a local resident - no one who is re-locating! Client is anxious to hire. Good medical benefits. Salary up to 60K. ARCHIVIST World famous Artist/Photographer’s studio is looking for an archivist with at least 3 years experience. Primary responsibilities will include the archiving of print and digital negatives and transparencies, the Artist’s papers and private collection. Cataloguing & documentation of new artwork, archive storage, lots of contact & coordination with agent for licensing & repro rights and printers for photo print orders. Handle contracts with galleries as well as maintaining inventory for body of work. Will supervise several staff members and be an active team member with sales, exhibitions and special projects. Must have a strong interest/knowledge of photography, solid experience in archival and collections management. Full-time position with excellent medical benefits. You must have experience with Mac, be comfortable speaking with clients and (very important) at least an internship within the New York Art community.
